Transforming a kitchen of cold, unfinished beauty into a welcoming, functional, vibrant place—fully commensurate with its generous volume.
“I wanted a kitchen where I could cook with joy, entertain friends, and — above all — feel truly at home. But the space was poorly conceived: cold, impersonal… and that lofty ceiling, which I didn’t know how to use, amplified the imbalance. I needed a space that was functional, inviting, and elegant — a place that made an impression while staying warm and effortlessly fluid.”
“I stripped the existing scheme to rebuild ageing plumbing and electrics — a healthy base is essential. From there, I proposed a luminous, pared-back style, blending contemporary and noble materials for an elegant, timeless kitchen. The key was not to fear the great ceiling height, but to integrate and dress it — daring verticality through pattern and texture with a high-end editor wallpaper. This immediately restores balance and well-being, with an atmosphere that is both refined and captivating. Soft tones create perfect harmony between contemporary kitchen finishes and the gentleness of the walls; botanical accents then tie everything together.”
Thomas Heagle also composed a singular play of light where reflections and the day’s rhythm reshape the mood — softness and calm in the morning, luminous dynamism by day.
“The key was not to fear the soaring ceiling height: embrace verticality through pattern and texture.”

Before — A dull kitchen with incomplete finishes, visually diminished by its height.
After — A modern, warm, optimised kitchen where elegance meets practicality.
“I live in London; this was my first purchase, a duplex in Pimlico. I’d already seen what Thomas had created for a friend and was impressed by her before/after. I loved working with him! From the outset he reassured me about the project’s complexities and timeline. I was blown away by his meticulous organisation and professionalism, especially the harmony he created on site while coordinating multiple trades. Today I have a coherent, beautiful space that impresses all my guests — and restores me every day.”
